We offer a rich and varied enrichment programme.

Trips and Visits

All the classes go on as many trips and visits as possible. We believe the best way for children to learn is by having real life experiences. We therefore endeavour to enrich classroom learning in as many ways as we can. Keep up to date on individual class trips and visits via our year group pages and the newsletters.

Children have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument from year 1. At present we offer the recorder, fife and steel pans with lessons from specialist teachers. As the children get older they will be able to progress onto the clarinet and flute. We encourage the children to perform their instruments in Assemblies and shows.

After school clubs

At Sidney Stringer primary we offer a range of out of school and lunch time clubs.

The clubs are run by both school staff and outside providers. Thank you to all the staff who run these clubs.

Some of the clubs we offer are,

  • Gardening Club
  • Cooking Club
  • Book Club
  • Craft Club
  • Lego club
  • Recorder club
  • Netball club
  • Multi skills club

We aim to offer these to as wide a range of children as possible and everyone gets a chance to do at least one usually more over the year.

We expect children to attend all of the sessions, unless there is a genuine reason for not being present.  We encourage parents to help children develop perseverance and responsibility by seeing through the commitment they have made when joining a club.  If your child cannot make a session we expect you to inform staff promptly to ensure that they know that your child is safe.
